OmiNspect EOBD

The OmiNspect EOBD allows the technician to access the vehicles' emission data through the OBD functionality. Data includes: Malfunction Indicator (MI) status, read and clear faults, live data, O2 sensor tests, freeze frame data and more.

This handset can be used with any EOBD compliant vehicle fitted with a J1962 diagnostic socket. So all petrol engines manufactured since 2000 and all diesel engines manufactured since 2004.  The easy to navigate, 6 button keypad handset is powered through the diagnostic socket, so the tool never needs charging, and can be neatly stored away.

It is also compatible with the latest CAN protocols, and is an affordable entry tool with great coverage*

The OmiNspect EOBD will communicate automatically with the vehicle EOBD using one of the following:

• ISO 9141
• Keyword 2000
• J1850 PWM (Ford)
• J1850 VPW (GM America)
• CAN

This diagnostic tool has a variety of functions that make it an essential tool for your garage.

The Easy Reset facility allows the user to view the current status of emission system components; whereas the System Readiness test will ensure the engine is ready for monitoring. Therefore it will not allow testing to commence if the engine is too cold. This ensures accurate results are recorded every time.

Menu Options Include:

MI/MIL Status

Displays the status of the Malfunction Indicator lamp for each emissions related control module.

View DTCs

Allows viewing of any stored DTCs, alongside the identity of the control module.

Live Data

View current status of emission system components on the vehicle, and provides a quick way of telling whether the component is working correctly.

O2 Sensor Tests

The OmiNspect EOBD has an optional mode for monitoring the oxygen sensor test results depending on the method used by the manufacturer. The handset will display the supported tests for each manufacturer and the data associated with those tests.

Vehicle Information

Including VIN number, controller version numbers etc

This is a snap-shot of live data that was stored in the control module at the moment the DTC was recognised.

Components on the vehicle may be turned on and off, or pulsed to test their operation
